Biography of Performers and Collaborators

Sally Marie: Director and Dancer, trained at Central School of Ballet. On leaving she burnt thirty pairs of pointe shoes and moved to New York. Since returning to England she has worked with numerous choreographers including Luca Silvistrini, Jasmin Vardimon and Sean Tuan John . Work this year as a performer, has included, The Class Club at the Barbican with Duckie and Piotr and the Stars of Tut, with Deja Donne. She has choreographed two solos and Dulce et Decorum marks her first group work.

 I came to movement because I was too shy to speak. I stay with it, because I find in it some essential honesty. Movement seems to speak the silence between the full stops that words can never reach.

Andy Hamer: Scenographer was educated in Fine Art. A fine tuning of his scenographic practice was achieved during the post-graduate study at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, refining skills in, film making and digital media. Further training opportunities were taken by Hamer to study Opera Design at DAMU, School of Theatre and Fine Art, Prague. He has since worked on project at, The Royal Opera House, Robin Hayward Dance Theatre, The Place, The Edinburgh Festival and for the BBC and the Royal Ballet. Hamer is company director of Imperative Productions Ltd . Hamer has always tried to carry through and build upon his design aesthetic and manifesto for dramatic design, Reductionism. Creating pieces of simple uncluttered beauty but without being devoid of meaning.

Andy Finn: Works across dance, theatre and music. Dance credits include continued national and international touring with New Art Club (This Is Modern and The Electric Tales), Foot In Hand and Anjali Dance Company. His work has appeared in both the 2004 finals and the 2006 semi-finals of The Place Prize with new art club and Louise Katerega respectively Primarily intrigued with lighting movement and music-based arts and spatially driven, Andy still finds time to dabble in theatre and has lit several nationally touring theatre pieces. Art projects continue to drive his enthusiasm for lighting and he is regularly invited to deliver lighting courses about the process of design. He is principle lighting designer for the award winning Summer Sundae Weekender where he has lit artists such as David Byrne, Patti smith and Gomez and he continues to love lighting music. In a world where cross-genre lighting design is often frowned upon, Andy worries not.  Lights are beautiful.

Kath Duggan: Dancer. Kath was born in Wigan. At 18 she quickly abandoned her dream of joining the RAF when in a workshop she was encouraged to dive and roll about the floor. Thoroughly enjoying this and discovering it to be called dance she went to the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, gaining a first class degree and graduate diploma. Since graduating in 2002 she has worked with Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company, creating and performing lullaby and Park, Sean Tuan John, Barnaby Stone and is now a member of the Cholmondeleys touring their current show Yippeee!!

Meline Danielexicz: A master of science, read Physics at Cambridge University before training as an aerialist and physical performer at Circomedia Bristol. After a temporary lapse into management consultancy, she returned to her senses and the gentle embrace of her first love... Theatre. Since then she has not looked back, performing with Punchdrunk (Faust, in collaboration with RNT), NoFit State Circus (ImMortal, Touring), Ockhams Razor (ROH2, London International Mime Festival 2007), A2 Company (ICA), Clod Ensemble (PSi 12) and Kazuko Hohki (BAC). Meline has also recently written and performed her first one-woman show, Light House, commissioned for Chelsea Theatre Live Art Festival.

Sarah Storer: with her national acclaim as having some of the best 'dance hair' in the business, began her training in Leicester under the direction of Sue Rosenbloom. After graduating from The Northern School of Contemporary Dance she worked on a dance film for BBC2's season of dance and several productions at the Royal Opera House. Sarah was a member of Diversions Dance Company, Edinburgh based companies X-Factor and The Ensemble Group and has worked in Germany with Frederic Flamand, director of Charleroi Danses. Before joining Sweetshop Revolution she danced with the Henri Oguike Dance Company for four years, and most recently, Bonachela Dance Company. Although Sarah failed to gain her GCSE maths she proudly holds a City and Guilds certificate in Numeracy!

Brian Ellsbury: As well as solo piano recitals Brian Ellsbury also works as an accompanist including engagements for University of Wales opera courses. He has also fulfilled engagements for the BBC as piano concerto soloist. TV work includes numerous commercials including one for SONY which was awarded gold at Cannes. More recently he was pianist and musical director for Mike Basset-England Manager a comedy drama screened on ITV1 in autumn 2006. Teaching posts include several London schools and also the University of Reading where he was appointed professor of piano in 2003.

The Mozart piano concerto was beautifully performed.
